Another great video Sky and again this game just blows me away, I love watching you play it and I laughed so hard at the beginning when you accidentally called Sora during your intended stealth attack😂. Loving the story and how the characters all come together, but I also agree with you that there has to be more to Ryuzo’s betrayal than what we’ve seen so far and yes I guess he’s a little resentful and I would even say jealous of Jin, based on previous interactions and dialogue with him. Take care Sky, can’t wait for the next one👍.

Ryuzo definitely has some resentment but i dont think he outright hates jin bc of it, his main motive is definitely surviving with his men

Tbh, imo Ryuzo is the most understandable and realistic character in the game. The fact that practically all the samurai are dead and mongals have the whole island. He is trying to save his people by joining them instead of fighting against what would feel like an unstoppable army. Everyone judges ryuzo but tbh most people would do the same as him bc they are scared to die

I've been to so many gaming channels in past couple of years but Sky is one of the best when it comes to streaming experience and calm commentary while gaming. Loving this channel more and more🥰🥰

still loving the playthrough and i think u're only a few of your episodes away from where I left off in the game, but as for Ryuzo's character study, u pretty much got it.. basically stems from resentment and pent up animosity from that damn duel ages ago.. but he seeks the noble path, like that of the Samurai, but he hasnt been graced with such an easy way into it, like being born into it - so he strived to earn a place. Then ofc he founded the straw hats, and seeing as tho he so desparately wants to be seen as a leader for his men - he wants to be admired like Jin or someone equally as noble/honorable.. alas tho, his quest has truly taken him to the depths of depravity and after his actions seen here, there may not be any return.

uhmmmmm i dont like to backseat but to save you some time and headaches....you can reduce the amount of leaders needed from the 10 to 5 , if you go to a camp , search for the leader (usually hes somewhere swinging his weapon) watch him for some seconds in stealth , then you'll get one point , kill him and you'll get another point

I'm sorry if someone already posted about this, but in answer to your question at 1:14:49 ... if you miss a standoff (release triangle too early - perhaps the game thought you did), you take devastating damage that takes you down to almost zero health, and if you don't immediately heal, it only takes one more hit to kill you after that. Really enjoying the playthrough thusfar!

it hurts to see people play the game too slowly, im a speedrunner tho so ig it is the problem

Hey sky, You should complete the Arrow Head Shrine. Its just slightly north of the word Azamo on Map... It will give you the Charm of Inari which grant you a bonus of DOUBLE or more the amount of Supplies, Bamboo, Wood, Predator Hides Every time you pick anything up.. It really racks up so you can upgrade weapons faster and plus carry more Arrows, Kunai, Sticky bombs,etc.

Sky you should upgrade all your gear, katana, bow etc in your next play, including you ability to carry more, kunay, arrows etc. You should also look for and do legendary missions, specially special atacks, you should get the abilities to kill multiple enemies during chalenge and the ability to roll when jumping from high places. Look out for Tory gates and pillars of honor.

I love this game! Some advice. Do the side missions. Do the Blacksmith missions. Critical. Always follow the Golden Bird and the Foxes. But, do the Blacksmith mission. If you haven't already.

13:30 The samurai code isn't about being a good person or even helping anyone. It's about establishing and maintaining honor. It would be better to let peasants be killed than lowering yourself to fight bandits and get dirty by the standadds of honor. Not at all what modern westerners would think of when we talk about honor.

I once tried to enter castle Kaneda before even the mission starts and out of no where there will be arrows flying at you...and next moment ur dead

I don't think Ryuzo is evil. He is just trying to survive, he is not wrong about Shimura sending him to die even when he saves him given his interaction with Luna. And he is not exactly enjoying killing his people. Just forced by the circumstances.

@Skyytea remember to do all the mythic tales, you get such cool stuff doing them. And there are also pillars of honor where you can get different swords

Try listen to random villagers and other npc they talk about the mythic tales and they are so good

Ryuzo has a duty to his men. To keep them alive and provide for them. I think There's a tinge of resentment because Jin was already part of a well off family and that tournament they were in kept Ryuzo from potentially a better life than he ended up having. I don't think that is his driving force for opposing Jin here, but it helps him choose his men over Jin for sure. I think Ryuzo also feels Shimura and Jin's cause is a lost one and the Khan is going to win so he's just given up I think.

something to note is that unsheathing your blade and throwing down the sheath is meant to show that you are fighting until death or victory no matter what

I think Ryuzo had jealousy and bitterness gnawing at him. His men probably wanted to join the Mongols after being treated well by them as well as thinking they were going to win. Ryuzo couldn't lose them because it would mean "losing" to Jin again. The Kahn is a clever villain because he knew by making Ryuzo burn his own countrymen, he could never go back.

Tip: you can unlock stances faster by observing leaders first before defeating them, if i remember correctly they should not be alerted so you can observe them

Im just bought my ps4, and i love it. Play got for the first time.

Clan armor is my go to Duel armor, as it returns resolve with every hit on you that they get. It becomes even more useful, when you can equip it with Resolve Charms.

Ryuzo doesn't just want food, he's trying to protect the strawhat Ronin. He's kind of their leader by default now and you can tell that he doesn't really know what to do; remember it was Jin who came up with a plan on their missions together and how Ryuzo was sensitive about Jin giving "orders" to the strawhats. This doesn't absolve Ryuzo of guilt but it does make him a more understandable, if not necessarily sympathetic, character.
